Dear Colleagues,

The FELIX Letter of Intent has now been submitted to the LHC Committee for the meeting of 4-5 September. We are very happy with the final document, and hope you will be, too. Thank you all for your hard work! 400 advance copies of the LoI have been printed for the LHCC. An additional 2000 copies will be printed shortly. You can find the current text on the FELIX web pages in the LoI section. If you find typos, please submit them to us no later than 15:00 Geneva time on Friday, 15 August, so that we can correct them in the second printing. After that, you will find the entire LoI in html format on the FELIX public web pages. The coming months will be critical ones for FELIX. We expect to make the open presentations to the LHCC at the meeting of 5-6 November. We will certainly have questions from the referees which we will need to answer. We need to find additional collaborators and begin to identify funding sources. We need to identify critical path issues, and develop strategies for attacking them. Finally, we will need to create the organizational framework which will carry us through the preparation of the Technical Design Report. We will be contacting you about these and other issues in the coming days and weeks. In the meantime, thank you again for a job well done, Sincerely,

Karsten Eggert
