Dear Colleagues,
This message is to update you on the progress towards completion of the FELIX
Letter of Intent and to ask for your help during the next three months. As
you know, our spring "FELIX Week" was a thorough review of the present status
of the work. We are now optimistic that the Letter-of-Intent will be ready in
time for the LHCC meeting in September. Since documents need to be submitted
to the
LHCC some three weeks before the meeting, this means that the LoI must go to
the printer no later than 1 Aug. 1997. We therefore need to freeze most of
the content by the end of June. Small changes can still be made during July.
In order to facilitate your entry into the active work we are preparing an
agenda of specific tasks where your help would be more than welcome, following
closely the contents of the LOI and the summary of the spring meeting. You
will find it soon on the FELIX web pages at http://www.cern.ch/FELIX.
WE NEED YOU TO WORK ON THE LOI NOW, and for the next few months.
Please contact us to discuss how you can most effectively contribute.
It was decided at the spring FELIX week that the next meeting, for final
review of the LoI, is to be held at CERN the week of Monday 30 June through
Friday 4 July. We hope that you will be there!
Please follow the
instructions on the FELIX web page (Summer meeting: general information) for hotel reservation and
send an e-mail to Valentina
(vavati@afsmail.cern.ch), indicating your stay at CERN.
In the coming weeks we hope to have drafts of sections of the LoI posted on
the web for review. We will try to notify you by e-mail in a timely fashion
as these become available.
But remember: we need your help now.
